Last weekend I took part of the Pyrenean Mountain dog World Conference witch one was the 5th one in UK.
The first World Conference was held in the UK in 1996, hosted by the PMDC of Great Britain, the second in November 2000, hosted by the PMDC of Victoria in Australia and the third was held in France in 2005, 4th in USA hosted by Great Pyrenees Club of America in 2010 and 5th in Great Britain hosted by PMDC of Great Britan .... the 6th one will be in 2020 and hosted by ... it hasnt decided yet but probably one of the European countries again.

It's a 2-3 day wonderful oportunity to meet many breed fans around the world and talk about our loved breed. There was people who have been to every conference before ... really long time breeders to connect with and get their experience with the breed shared. This year was participants mostly from UK, USA, Australia, New Zeland, Sweden and Estonia + 2 lectures: Alain Pecoult, France and Guido Massimello, Italy. It is a true pity that there were not more countries presented at this event and all of us who were there wished that it will change the next time there is 6th World Conference for the breed. How is it decided? Well the particpants make their intrest and present their ideas, this year Eileen Blair from Scotland and Me from Estonia gave the idea where should next Conference could take place.

The main reason I write this in this forum is that there is INTERNATIONAL PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG MAGAZINE called PYR INTERNATIONAL witch has been for a very long time been done by PMDC club of Great Britan but now it the magazine is independent and taken over by Les Ingham who is the new editor and he is looking for correspondents around the world who can send him information about the breed in their country. This magazine goes all the way to Japan and many other countries and Les Ingam is looking for a correspondant from Russia. It has to be someone who is fluent enough in English to write him the results from most important shows in Russia, about ur breed club and events etc. The stories dosent have to be long and dont be afraid to make mistakse in ur spelling, he will help to correct it for you. I have been the correspondent for Estonia now 2 years when Joyce Stannard was still taking care of the magazine but she is too old to do it now and Les has taken it over.
